My most exciting find this week is a Polaroid Instant 10 camera, made in 1978 and complete with some tiny white paint splats from being uncovered while someone got a little unwieldy with decorating I'm imagining. That aside it looks to be in near perfect condition so I've ordered some film and can't wait to play around with it! Funny how an instamatic can still make my heart pitter patter when I can whip out my iPhone or digital camera far more easily.
Possibly not everyone's bag of chips but I loved this little round coffee table, so much more my style than the five year old Ikea number it replaced, for £10 it was a bargain and since it was an anniversary treat from T it'll definitely be a keeper too!
Old postcards are hard to walk away from but I kept it to three new additions and a silver plated tray.
Totally unsurprising but necessary buy; teacups!
Porcelain picture in frame - it'll be interesting figuring out how to hang this without cracking/breaking!
So jealous of your finds - especially that coffee table and the camera!
ReplyDeleteOh I have a thing for the old Polaroids... I have an ancient one (colourpack 80) which needs a bit of battery acid cleaned off it's terminals and then I'm off! That table is beautiful! I love your photos too :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely! I cheat, I have a Polaroid app
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely!! I have a more recent one but hate shelling out for film! xx

ReplyDeleteOh wow what a great find with that polaroid! Can't wait to see how your shots look with that! Film is a bit expensive these days but its definitely worth it. the coffee table is just gorgeous for a tenner and of course I love the teacups too. bliss!
ReplyDeleteThe table beats Ikea any day. Having filled my house with old G Plan, scratches and all, I can say that the feel and patina of the old wood make up for any imperfections.
ReplyDeleteLovely finds. That porcelain picture is absolutely stunning; I want it! xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures Jem - especially the light circles (don't know what they're actually called) that you always capture:) And yes, that table rocks the legs off an Ikea one (not that there's anything wrong with Ikea!)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. Do share some of the photo's you take with the polaroid, I would love to see how they turn out..how fun!
ReplyDeleteI like the coffee table and such pretty teacups :)

That coffee table may not be everyone's style, but it is mine! Lovely. And the vintage cameras? I lust for a collection of my own, but I have yet to find one! Perhaps if I quit looking...

ReplyDeleteOhhhh! The table! It is completely lovely!
ReplyDeleteAnd you will have SO much fun with the polaroid, nothing beats having the photos right there and then. (But mostly we love it because of it's retro look hey?! Who cares if it doesn't spend too much of it's life with you actually taking photos, it will LOOK GREAT)
Good work :)
