A Crafty Snippet

I had so much fun joining in with Our Creative Spaces for the first time last week, it was a little nerve-wracking but thank you all for being so welcoming, it was inspiring to see what you've all been working on - you're such a talented bunch!  This week, sat working at the coffee table, there has been much playing around with Instagram filters, plenty of idle doodling and more playing with paper.

I'm very keen on paper rosettes and made a couple in different papers while attempting my first piece of paper embroidery with a page from a ruined copy of Little Women.  It's a little uneven and far from perfection as you can see but I think given another page or two of practice I'll have nailed it.  The dainty necklace is made from reused beads threaded onto jewellery wire, it's almost finished now and I'm looking forward to wearing it

Yet more quote collage postcards, this one is a touch wonky (I'll tell myself it adds to the handmade appeal!), but one of my favourites because of the used stamps and the Tolkien quote.  Really enjoyed getting my bead box out again and making this little bracelet for a friend with very delicate wrists, the pearls are from a broken necklace I found in a charity shop.

Between crafty sessions I've found myself reading plenty of Jane Austen, savouring Persuasion at the moment.  Hope you're all having a lovely week so far!  Stop by Our Creative Spaces to see what everyone else has been getting busy with this week, great to peruse with a cup of tea!

  1. I'm quite envious now, I love messing with paper but it's rare I get the chance. I love what you've done here.
Keep up the crafting, you're arty as well as crafty, not everyone is. Wonky lines are a must, don't ever change!

I really need to find some time to get my crafting mojo back - far too many projects awaiting me. Scarlett x

  8. Your collages are so cute! I especially liked the one with the owl from your last weeks creative space! I really wanted to try out making collages together with paint (that is, when my painting and drawing skills get a little improved) for now I've been doing watercolor painting on old book pages and I think it turned out really lovely!

At least now I know which blog to visit if I need some fun collage inspiration! Thank you for sharing and have a great day :)

  15. That is my fave Tolkien quote and I don't think it matters a whit that it's wonky. Adds to the charm. What do you do with your embroidered book pages? Would love to see more. Enjoy your Jane... I always do!
